Tongue Bar Sizes
The standard gauge for a tongue bar is 1.6mm and all of our tongue bars have the standard gauge of 1.6mm. The ‘size‘ (or ‘length‘) refers to the distance between the two balls (see the ‘Barbell‘ illustration above).
Keeping this in consideration, are there different size tongue rings? What size is a tongue piercing? Barbell length for tongue piercing can vary between 10mm (0,39in) and 18mm(0,70in) depending on the thickness of your tongue. Note that the most common barbell length for tongue piercing tend to be 16mm(0,62in).
In this way, how do you know if your tongue ring is too small?
If the ball on your barbell is being sunken into your tong and starting to hide away, your barbell could be too short. Maybe your tongue swelled more than expected, or they just gave you a too short bar. Swelling is absolutely normal, and you should see a lot of it. Especially with a tongue piercing.
